Irina S. Barequet
Irina S. Barequet, M.D., graduated from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1987. She then served as a military physician for four years. She completed her residency in ophthalmology in 1996 at the Goldschleger Eye Institute, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hshomer, Israel. Between 1996 and 1998 she was a fellow at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore, MD, USA, performing one year of research in ocular infectious diseases and one year of clinical fellowship in anterior segment diseases and surgery. Barequet returned to Israel in 1998 and undertook her current position as a Faculty Member of the Cornea Service at the Goldschleger Eye Institute, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, Israel. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. She is also a Senior Refractive Surgeon at the "Enaim" Refractive Surgery Center, Jerusalem, Israel. She served between 2002 and 2006 as the Chairperson of the Cornea Society of the Israeli Ophthalmological Association.
