Daniel Bereczki is a Professor of neurology and a Department Chairman at the Department of Neurology, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He works as a Fellow of the European Stroke Organization (ESO) and a Vice President of the Hungarian Stroke Society. He gained his M.D. degree in 1984, Debrecen, Hungary. He has board certification in neurology (1988) and psychiatry (1994). Then, he received the Ph.D. degree in 1994, and then he was a doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2001). He serves as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Neurological Surgery, State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA (1989–1992), and at the Tohoku Gakuin University, Sendai, Japan (1997-1998). Bereczki is an Editorial Board Member for the Cochrane Stroke Review Group (Edinbudgh, UK), for the journal Stroke (American Heart Association), and an Associate Editor for BMC Neurology.
