Seyed M. Moghadas is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics, and Director of the Agent-Based Modelling Laboratory at the Faculty of Science in York University. He joined York University in 2011 under the strategic hiring to enhance the stature for research, training, and networking capacity in the field of infectious disease modelling and evidence-based public health decision-making. After joining York University, he established the first Agent-Based Modelling Laboratory in Canada, with the mandate of supporting public health decision making, using advanced information and communications technologies and novel computational methods for integrating existing and emerging databases from various sources. Professor Moghadas’ research involves modelling public health responses to emerging infectious diseases, and the development of novel quantitative methods for rapid, evidence-based, decision-making in public health.
