Thomas Schulenberg is currently the Head of the Institute for Nuclear and Energy Technologies at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany. He is teaching nuclear and conventional power plant technologies as well as two-phase flow and heat transfer at the faculty of mechanical engineering of KIT. He also worked on the development of conventional, combined cycle power plants with Siemens until 2000. He is a Member of the Steering Committee for Supercritical Water-Cooled Reactors in the Generation IV International Forum. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1984 in postaccident heat removal of sodium cooled fast reactors. His areas of expertise include water-cooled reactors, power plant technologies, thermal-hydraulics, and two-phase flow.
