Kiyoshi Shimamura

Kiyoshi Shimamura was born in Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Waseda University in 1990, and received the Ph.D. degree from Tohoku University in 1995. Since 2002, he has been working as an Associate Professor of Waseda University, and since 2005, he has been working in the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS). At present, he serves as a Group Leader of Frequency Conversion Group, Optronic Materials Center, at NIMS. He is mainly interested in crystal growth, especially bulk single crystal growth. He serves as an editor of different Japanese Journals related to single crystals and ceramics.
