Ugo Cioffi

U. Cioffi received his M.D. degree in 1981 at the University of Naples, Naples, Italy. From 1983 to 1988, he was a General Thoracic Surgery Resident, University of Milan, Milan, Italy, and he received his Ph.D. degree in medicine from the same university. He was awarded a visiting fellowship at the State University of N.Y. at Albany, A. Medical Center, Department of Surgery, in 1982 –84 and 2000. In 1996 and 1998, He was a Visiting Scientist at Jack D. Weiler of the Albert Einstein Coll Med N.Y. Cardiothoracic Surgergy. From 1992 to 2005, he has been a Researcher at IRCCS Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, University of Milan. Since 2006, he has been a Contract Professor of Surgery, University of Milan. Cioffi's interests include esophageal surgery, mediastinal surgery, and surgery of lung cancer.
