Chiaki Kitamura

Chiaki Kitamura received the D.D.S. degree from the School of Dentistry, Kyushu Dental College, Kitakyushu, Japan, in 1989. In 1993, he received the Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School, Kyushu Dental College, Japan. From 1993 to 1994, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at National Institute of Dental Research, National Institutes of Health, USA working with Dr. Bruce J. Baum. He worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, Kyushu Dental College, Fukuoka, Japan, from 1994 to 2005, and at the Division of Pulp Biology, Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, Kyushu Dental College, Fukuoka, Japan, from 2006 to 2009. Since 2010, he is a Chairman and Professor at the Division of Pulp Biology, Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, Kyushu Dental College, and since 2012, he is the Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, Kyushu Dental College. Since 2013, the name of his affiliation has been changed to Division of Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Kyushu Dental University. He is an accredited supervisor in the areas of conservative dentistry, endodontics, and orofacial pain. His recent research interests include regeneration of dental pulp, regeneration of bone, and inflammatory regulation.
