Sabrina Mattoli is a Pulmonologist with extensive experience in basic, translational, and clinical research. During the last 15 years, she has been the Director of the Avail Biomedical Research Institute, a research organization committed to the discovery of new therapeutic targets for or the development of drugs more effective than those currently available for the treatment of asthma and other chronic pulmonary diseases. She is the Founder and President of a global biopharma consulting firm and acts as an accredited Expert in research and innovation for the European Commission and several national public funding bodies in Europe. Previously, she held various research and medical management positions at internationally accredited academic/research institutions and in the pharmaceutical industry. She has published over 80 articles in peer-reviewed journals, also including editorials and review papers, and has coauthored 6 book chapters and more than 150 conference abstracts. She serves as a Consulting Editor, member of the Editorial Board, and ad hoc Referee for several scholarly journals and is an active Member of the American Association of Immunologists, the American Thoracic Society, the European Respiratory Society, the Italian Medical Association, and the Swiss Medical Association. She has been the recipient of many international awards and honors.
