Sanjay Kumar

Sanjay Kumar was born in Ranchi, India. He received M.S. and M.Phil. degrees in geology from Ranchi and Delhi University in 1991 and 1994, respectively, P.G. Diploma in cement technology from National Council for Cement and Building Materials, New Delhi, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in ceramic engineering from Kolkata University in 2000. He is a Research Fellow at National Metallurgical Laboratory since 1994 and joined as a Regular Scientist since 1998. Presently, he serves as a Senior Scientist (Senior Assistant Director) at National Metallurgical Laboratory. His current interests are geopolymer, cement, refractories, solid-waste utilization, and structural ceramics. He was the recipient of Nijhawan Award in 2005, Tamotia Award given by Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers in 2005, Indian Ceramic Society Jamshedpur Chapter Founday Day Award in 2007, and Best In-House Project of NML Award in 2009. He is also a Life-Time Member of Indian Ceramic Society, Materials Research Society of India, Coal Ash Institute, India, Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers, Indian Institute of Ceramics, and serves as a Joint Secretary of Jamshedpur Chapter of Indian Ceramic Society. Currently, he is leading a comprehensive research program on geopolymers.
