Tingjun Hou is currently the Professor at the Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials (FUNSOM) at Soochow University in Suzhou. Professor Hou’s areas of scientific interest include: developing methods for computer-aided drug design (CADD) and designing potential lead compounds for important drug targets using the CADD techniques; inferring the protein-protein interaction networks mediated by modular domains using molecular modeling/bioinformatic techniques and biological experiments; investigating the molecular mechanisms of drug resistance and developing computational models for drug resistance. Professor Hou holds a B.S. degree in chemistry from Peking University (1997) and a Ph.D. degree in computational chemistry from Peking University (2002). Professor Hou worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Research Scientist at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at Peking University (2002–2004) and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCSD (2004–2009). In 2009, Professor Hou joined Soochow University as a Full Professor. He is the Associate Editor of Theoretical Biology and Medical Modelling, a Member of the editorial boards for the journals: Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics and Journal of Pharmaceutics, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Boards for the journals: Current Pharmaceutical Design, Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, and Current Computer-Aided Drug Design and Medicinal Chemistry.
