Tingjun Hou is currently a Professor at the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China. Professor Hou’s areas of scientific interest include developing methods for computer-aided drug design (CADD), designing potential lead compounds for important drug targets using the CADD techniques, inferring the protein-protein interaction networks mediated by modular domains using molecular modeling/bioinformatic techniques and biological experiments, investigating the molecular mechanisms of drug resistance, and developing computational models for drug resistance. Professor Hou holds his B.S. degree in chemistry from Peking University, Beijing, China (1997), and his Ph.D. degree in computational chemistry from the same university (2002). Professor Hou worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Research Scientist at the College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering at Peking University (2002–2004) and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UCSD, CA, USA (2004–2009). In 2009, Professor Hou joined Soochow University, Suzhou, China, as a Full Professor and, in 2013, he moved to Zhejiang University. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards for the following journals: Journal of Cheminformatics, Theoretical Biology and Medical Modeling, Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics, and Journal of Pharmaceutics and a Member of the Editorial Advisory Boards for the following journals: Current Pharmaceutical Design, Minireviews in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology &, Drug Design, and Current Computer-Aided Drug Design, and Medicinal Chemistry.
