Xuguo Zhou obtained his Ph.D. degree in insect toxicology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lincoln, NE, USA, in 2012. Zhou serves as an Assistant professor at the Department of Entomology, University of Kentucky. He has integrated molecular biology and “omics” tools with fundamental biological disciplines such as toxicology, physiology, ecology, and sociobiology to address some outstanding biological questions with practical implications. Specifically, the directions of his research program at the University of Kentucky fall into three major areas: genomics-metagenomics based biomass conversion, sociogenomics in wood-feeding Dictyoptera, and RNA interference-mediated pest management. Zhou has published over 45 peer-reviewed publications on a wide range of insect-related topics and has contributed 7 book chapters and coedited 1 book.
