Giulio Maccauro

Giulio Maccauro serves as a Professor of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Department of Geriatrics, Neurosciences, and Orthopedics, the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, and Chief of Traumatology and Musculoskeletal Oncology Unit, A. Gemelli Hospital, Rome. He received his Medical degree from the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome, and completed his Residency at Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, the Catholic University of Sacred Heart. He specializes in the treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors and he has been a Visiting Fellow with Prof. Windhager, at the Department of Orthopedics, University of Graz, Austria, and with Prof. Winkelmann, at the Department of Orthopedics, University of Muenster, Germany. He was a reviewer of Bone Metastasis Guidelines and a Board Member of Soft Tissue Sarcoma and Chondrosarcoma’s Guidelines for the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology. His surgical activity includes over 3000 surgical procedures as a First Surgeon, in particular in musculoskeletal oncology and trauma surgery. His research portfolio includes over 100 published scientific papers in international journals (70 on Pubmed and 91 on Scopus) and abstracts, with associated national and international presentations of this work.
