Leon Spicer got the B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minn, USA (1977), the M.S. degree from the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho, USA (1979), and the Ph.D. degree from Michigan Sate University, East Lansing, Mich, USA (1984). From 1984 to 1988, he worked as an Instructor at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at The Pennsylvania State University. Spicer worked as an Assistant Professor (1988–1993), an Associate Professor (1993–1998), and a Professor (1998), at the Department of Animal Science at Oklahoma State University. In 2005, he became a Visiting Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Stanford University Medical Center, Stanford, Calif, USA.
