Hiroshi Takeyama, holder of the M.D. and F.A.C.S degrees, was born on September 09, 1955 in Fukushima, Japan. In 1983, Takeyama graduated from Jikei University, School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan with an M.D. degree. From 1987 to 1990, he was a Research Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Mass, USA. Since 2008, Takeyama has been an Associate Professor of surgery and Deputy Director in the Department of Breast and Endocrine Surgery, Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. He is a Member of the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American College of Surgeons (ACS), Japanese Society of Surgery, Japanese Society of Digestive Surgery, Japanese Society of Breast Cancer, Japanese Society of Endocrine Surgery, Japanese Society of Thyroid Surgery, Japanese Cancer Association, and Japanese Society of Clinical Oncology.
