Jiuping Xu obtained a Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and a Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from Sichuan University, Sichuan, China, in 1995 and 1999, respectively. Dr. Xu is a Distinguished Professor of the “Chang Jiang Scholars Program” of the Ministry of Education of China and the Dean of the Business School of Sichuan University. His main research interests are decision under uncertainty, systems sciences and engineering, management science, civil engineering management, system comprehensive integration theory and technology and application for circular economy, systems engineering of postdisaster reconstruction, force analysis and optimized design of well completion test of tubular strings, and low carbon technology and management. Professor Xu was appointed as a Lifetime Academician of the International Academy of Systems and Cybernetic Sciences in 2010. He is the President of the International Society for Management Science and Engineering Management, the Vice President of the Systems Engineering Society of China, the Vice President of the Chinese Society of Optimization and Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, and the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Management Science and Engineering Management. He has published more than 50 official books and 400 journal papers.
