Mehmet Odabasi was born in 1970. He received the B.S. degree in chemistry from the Atatü rk University, Erzurum, Turkey in 1993. He received the M.S. degree in biochemistry with a thesis entitled “DNA carrying magnetic bioaffinity sorbents for systemic lupus erythematosus disease” in 2000 and his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry with a thesis entitled “Molecularly imprinted polymers for separation of proteins” in 2005 at the Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. He joined the Department of Chemistry at the Aksaray University, Aksaray, Turkey, as an Assistant Professor in 2007. His current research interests are chromatographic techniques, such as bioaffinity chromatography, immobilised metal affinity chromatography, and molecular imprinting for the purification of biomolecules, for example, proteins, DNA, pathogenic antibodies, and preparation of polymeric biospecific sorbents with different bulk and surface properties.
