Andrei Rareş
A. Rareş was born in Bucharest, Romania.
He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees
in computer science from Politehnica University
of Bucharest in 1996 and 1997, respectively.
In 2004 he received the Ph.D.
degree in electrical engineering from Delft
University of Technology, The Netherlands.
From 1996 to 1999 he was a Teaching Assistant
in the Faculty of Automatic Control
and Computers at Politehnica University of
Bucharest. From 1999 to 2003 he was a Ph.D. student in the Information
and Communication Theory Group, Mediamatics Department
of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering,Mathematics and
Computer Science at Delft University of Technology. Since 2003, he
has been working as a researcher in the Laboratory for Clinical and
Experimental Image Processing at Leiden University Medical Center,
The Netherlands. His research interests are in image and video
processing, including restoration, object tracking, motion estimation,
data compression, and medical image analysis.
