Elena Ambrosino serves currently as a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Public Health Genomics (Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences) at Maastricht University (The Netherlands). There, she coordinates the Genome-based Research and Population Health International (GRaPH-Int) Network, and she serves as a Project Supervisor of the Public Health Genomics European Network (PHGEN) II European project. Furthermore, she works as an Associate Editor of the Journal Public Health Genomics, and the Manager of the Editorial Office. Before joining Maastricht University, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Tropical Institute of the French Army (Marseille, France) in the field of malaria research in Sub-Saharan Africa and earlier a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute (NIH, USA) in the field of tumor immunology. Her education background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in International Health and Tropical Medicine, a Ph.D. in immunology and molecular biology, and an Advanced Degree in medical biotechnology.
