Yong G. Peng is an Associate Professor, at the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville, Fla, USA since 2009. He is also a Joint Associate Professor of Surgery, University of Florida College of Medicine since 2009. Since 2005, he has been a Fellowship Director at the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Florida College of Medicine. Peng has been a Director of Perioperative of Transesophageal Echocardiography, Department of Anesthesiology, University of Florida College of Medicine since 2005. He received his M.D. degree from the Xi’an Medical University, Xi’an, Shannxi, China in 1985. In 1996, he received his Ph.D. degree at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathology, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC, USA. Between 1987 and 1989, he had a fellowship in endocrinology at the Department of Endocrinology, Sino-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China, and in 1997–1998, he had an internship at the Department of Internal Medicine, University Medical Center, University of Florida, Jacksonville, Fla, USA. He was a Resident at the Department of Anesthesiology, University of Florida College of Medicine in 1998–2001. He had a fellowship in cardiovascular anesthesia at the Department of Anesthesiology, Emory University, Atlanta, Ga, USA, in 2001–2002. Peng's areas of expertise are cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia and transesophageal echocardiography.
