Cristina Siligardi is Associate Professor of Materials Science and Technology at the Faculty of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” of University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, (Modena, Italy). She is the International Relations Guidance and Erasmus Coordinator for the Engineering Faculty “Enzo Ferrari”. She is author and co-author of more 115 scientific papers in national and international journals and lectures in congress as concerning ceramic materials. The scientific activity has always regarded the functional and structural ceramic materials (mainly for building applications which have been investigated in their theoretical and modellistic aspects, but also in their applicative ones, taking into account that the great evolution in the industrial technologies and systems occured in these years has deeply transformed the field, demanding the development of new materials and more controlled processes. The carried out scientific activity in the field of the project can be distinguished in: a) design, characterization and application of glass, glass-ceramic materials and composites glass-ceramic matrix; b) product and process innovation in the traditional ceramic materials c) coating techniques, treatments of surfaces. d) Recently she has been working on the preparation and characterization “cool roof and cool colours” materials. She has been carried out an extensive activity in the field of professional qualification and of knowledge and technology transfer to the ceramic industries, in order to achieve a close collaboration between enterprises and university.
