Abdel Halim Salem

Abdel Halim Salem is working as an Associate Professor of anatomy at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. He graduated from El-Kasr Al-Aini School of Medicine, Cairo University (1986), Giza, Egypt, and obtained his M.S. degree from Suez Canal University (1992), Suez, Egypt, and M.D. degree in anatomy from Suez Canal University and Ludwig Maximillian University, Munich, Germany (Joint Research Program) (1997). He conducted his postdoctoral studies as a Research Fellow at Louisiana State University Health Science Center, USA. He is an author of several articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and a scientific referee for a number of international journals. His main research interest is mobile element-associated genetic variation, contemporary and ancient human population history, and analysis of genetic polymorphisms especially in Arab populations.
