Hector Dominguez received his Ph.D. degree in 1997 from the University of Bristol, UK. Then, he moved to Chapel Hill University for a postdoctoral position from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004, he got a position as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and he currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Materials Research Institute at the same university. From 2009 to 2010, he spent an academic year at the Imperial College, London, UK. His main areas of interest are computer simulations of self-assembly of complex molecules and fluids in porous media.
