Zhongming Zhao

Zhongming Zhao received a Ph.D. degree in human and molecular genetics in 2000, an M.S. degree in computer science in 2002, an M.S. degree in biomathematics in 1998, an M.S. degree in genetics in 1996, and a Keck Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship in computational and structural biology in 2002-2003. He published more than 100 papers in the genomics, bioinformatics, and genetic variation fields in journals such as PNAS, Genome Research, NAR, Cancer Cell, Bioinformatics, BMC Bioinformatics, BMC Genomics, Molecular Biology and Evolution, and Molecular Psychiatry. Zhao's research work has been supported from NIH (NCI, NLM, NIAAA, NIMH), NARSAD Young Investigator awards (twice), Jeffress Trust, American Cancer Society, and other foundations. His research interests include genomics and comparative genomics, algorithm development, bioinformatics and systems biology approaches to studying complex diseases, microRNA-mediated regulatory networks, and biomedical informatics.
