Patrizia D'Amelio received the Ph.D. degree in 2007 from the University of Turin, Turin, Italy. From January to February 2008, she was a Research Fellow at the University of Turin, Turin, Italy. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the same university. She has been a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Piedmont Osteoporosis Foundation since 2004 and a Member of the following scientific societies: Forum in Bone and Mineral Research since 2005, American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) since 2006, European Calcified Tissue Society (ECTS) since 2007, and Italian Society for Osteoporosis and Bone and Mineral Diseases (SIOMMMS) since 2007. She has been giving a course of bone and mineral disorders at the Geriatric School, University of Turin, Turin, Italy, since November 2008. She received numerous awards and prizes for bone metabolism research and published 42 papers in international peer-reviewed journals. She is an Associate Editor of Clinical Reviews in Bone and Mineral Metabolism and a Member of the Editorial Boards of WJO and Advances in Medicines. Her areas of expertise are bone and mineral metabolism disorders, osteoporosis, bone cell biology, and osteoimmunology.
