Mario Schootman is a Ph.D. degree holder. He currently serves as a Professor of epidemiology at the College for Public Health and Social Justice at Saint Louis University School, Saint Louis, MO, USA. He has a background in clinical and social epidemiology. Dr. Schootman has an extensive experience in designing and conducting studies focusing on various adverse outcomes in cancer patients, including the built environment and other aspects of cancer prevention and control. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, many of which are focused on disparities and comparative effectiveness. In his work, he uses geographic information system and advanced epidemiological methods (e.g., bias correction and propensity scores).
