Joseph Cullen

Joseph Cullen is currently a Professor of surgery at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa, USA. He received his M.D. degree at the University of Iowa, Iowa, USA, in 1986, and completed surgical residency at the same institution in 1991. He then spent the next two years as an NIH Research Fellow in gastrointestinal diseases at the Mayo Clinic. In 1993, he joined the faculty of the Department of Surgery at the University of Iowa. In 2002, he was named the Chief of the Surgical Services at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. Clinically, he specializes in gastrointestinal disease, and his research focuses on the role of oxidative stress in pancreatic cancer.
