Victor M. Rivera
Victor M. Rivera graduated from the Autonomous National University of Mexico and trained at the Wayne State University (Detroit, Mich, USA) and Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, Tex, USA) where he has served under numerous capacities at the College and the formerly affiliated main teaching hospital, The Methodist Hospital at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, including Deputy Chief of Neurology and Director of the Neurology Unit. Promoted to “Distinguished Emeritus Professor” of neurology in 2011. He is the Founder and First Medical Director of the Maxine Mesinger MS Comprehensive Care Center, the largest in the South of the USA. He has written extensively in English and Spanish language journals and authored chapters and edited books. Professor Rivera has been honored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and received numerous distinctions from Latin American neurological and MS associations. He is a Founder of the Latin American Committee for Treatment and Research in MS and twice its President.
