Chwan-Li Shen received his B.S. degree in food and nutrition from the Providence University, Taichung, Taiwan, in 1986–1989, his M.S. degree in nutrition and bone from the Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Tex, USA, in 1990–1991, and his Ph.D. degree in food science, nutrition, and bone from the Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind, USA, in 1992–1995. Shen pursued his postdoctoral studies in bone pathology, nutrition, and carcinogenesis at School of Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), Lubbock, Tex, USA, in 1996–2000. He workes as an Associate Professor (tenured) of pathology, Joint Associate Professor of physiology, and Clinical Associate Professor of diagnostic and primary care at TTUHSC. Shen is a Member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR), American Society for Nutrition (ASN), and The Society of Clinical Research Associates ( SoCRA, 2010 till present). He serves as a reviewer for more than 30 journals. He is a Member of the Editorial Boards of The Open Bone Journal, The Open Nutraceuticals Journal, World Journal of Orthopaedics, Nutrition Research, International Scholarly Research Network Rheumatology, and Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry. Shen is also a Fellow of the United States Bone and Joint Decade Young Clinical Investigator Workshop Program on the Design and Conduct of Randomized Clinical Trials in Bone and Joint Diseases (2006–;2010). He received the Certified Clinical Research Professionals (CCRP), 2010, from the SoCRA.
