Shouke Yan graduated from Physics Department of Qufu Normal University, Shandong Province, Qufu in July 1985.From September 1985 to July 1988, he was studying for his M.S. degree at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and from September 1993 till August 1996, he was preparing for his Ph.D. degree at Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany through a sandwich program between the Chinese Academy of sciences and the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science, Germany. Since July 1988 till December 1990, he has been serving as a Research Assistant in Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIAC), Changchun, China. He occupied in the same institute the Post of Research Associate twice. First, from December 1990 till September of 1993, then, again from September 1996 till July of the following year. On August 1997, he joined the research staff in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Dortmund, Germany and stayed there till December of 2001. Since September 2001 till now, Professor Yan has been working as a Full Professor in the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIAC), Changchun, China. His research interests include the polymer composites, polymer self-reinforcement, crystal structure and phase behavior of polymers, surface-induced crystallization of polymers, and structure evolution of polymers under confined environment and orientation-induced crystallization of polymers.
