Steven McAnulty received his Ph.D. degree in exercise physiology from Auburn University, Auburn, AL, USA, and is currently a Professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Appalachian State University, Boone, NC, USA. For the past decade, his research focus and area of expertise have been the study of acute and chronic whole food and antioxidant supplement ingestion on indices of oxidative stress following acute and chronic bouts of intense exercise. He is the principal or corresponding author on 17 peer-reviewed papers and coauthor on 42 peer-reviewed papers that have been published or accepted for publication. He has presented more than 80 abstracts at the national and regional level and has been on grants totaling more than $1,500,000. He has mentored 44 graduate students in research projects for thesis and nonthesis projects and currently serves as a reviewer for 25 scientific journals and an Associate editor for three journals.
