Peter S. Roland

Peter Sargent Roland is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and is a Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Tex, USA. He is board-certified in both otolaryngology and neurotology. He completed his medical school training at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Galveston, Tex, USA, and his residency training at Penn State University, Univeristy Park, Pa, USA. Since 1985, he has been a full-time Faculty Member at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Roland has published over 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals and 40 book chapters. He is the author of two books: Hearing Loss and Ototoxicity. Dr. Roland's special interest is cochlear implantation. He started the cochlear implant program at UT Southwestern Medical Center which has now completed implants for approximately 500 adults and children.
