Hazzaa M. Al-Hazzaa
Hazzaa M. Al-Hazzaa, Ph.D., F.A.C.S.M., works as a Professor and as the Director of Exercise Physiology Laboratory. he is a Board Member of the Obesity Research Chair at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His research involves the investigation of physical activity/inactivity, cardiorespiratory fitness and cardiovascular/metabolic health. He also studies the interaction between physical inactivity and obesity in children and adults. In addition, he frequently assesses physiological function and capacity as well as body composition for Saudi athletes. He served as the Principle Investigator on numerous funded research projects on physical activity, energy expenditure, and cardiovascular and metabolic health and fitness of Saudi children and youth. He acts currently as a Lead investigator of the Arab Teens Lifestyle Study (ATLS). He has published several books and over 100 scientific papers in Arabic and in English in the areas of exercise physiology, sports medicine, health-enhancing physical activity, fitness, fatness, and cardiovascular/metabolic health. He serves as a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and as a Member of numerous scientific organizations in the field of sports medicine, sports science, obesity, public health, and health promotion. He had also participated in a variety of committees and previously held administrative positions as a Department Head, as a Vice Dean, and as a Board Member in the Graduate School Council and King Saud University Academic Council.
