Maynard H. Schaus
Maynard H. Schaus obtained his Ph.D. degree in zoology from Miami University, Oxford, OH, USA, working on nutrient cycling by fish in lake ecosystems. Currently, he works as a Professor of biology and the Chair of the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Virginia Wesleyan College, Norfolk, VA, USA. His laboratory has conducted investigations on how fish biomanipulation can impact lake nutrient cycles, how diet and size structure impact nutrient cycling by consumers, and quantifying the uptake of nutrients by mangroves exposed to municipal waste. His recent investigations have also included the use of urban habitats by birds and the feeding ecology of harvestmen in tropical forests.
