Ann Cools serves as a Physiotherapist and working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy at the Ghent University, Belgium. After graduation from the University of Leuven in 1986, she worked in a general physiotherapy practice for several years. Since 1998, she has a teaching and research assignment at the Ghent University in basic education and advanced courses. Her topic of research and teaching expertise and her clinical work is shoulder rehabilitation in general and sport specific approach and scapular involvement in particular. She has published several papers in international journals, gives courses on a national and international level, and has authored a book and made a DVD on shoulder examination and rehabilitation. At present, she serves as the Head of the Physical Therapy Education at the Ghent University and as the President of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Rehabilitation (EUSSER).
