Toshinori Kojima was born on March 8, 1953. In 1975, he graduated from the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, where he also received his Dr. Eng. degree in 1981. He served as a Research Associate and Lecturer at the University of Tokyo from 1981 to 1987, Lecturer and Associate Professor at Seikei University from 1987 to 1994, Professor at Seikei University in 1994. Kojima has got many awards such as The Japan Institute of Energy Award and The Award of Japanese Association for Arid Land Studies. He has also attended some conferences such as The 20th International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering (ISCRE 20). Kojima?s areas of interest include global environmental issues, especially CO2, desert/afforestation, and rural development; environmental issues, especially water treatment, waste treatment, and soil remediation; energy issues, especially gasification and combustion of biomass and coal; LCA and energy analyses; material Processing (e.g. poly-Si for solar cell, photo-catalyst, and ceramic particle production); fluidized bed process.
