Aju Jugessur received a Ph.D. degree in optoelectronics and electronic engineering, with a focus on nanofabrication, from the University of Glasgow, UK, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, Canada. His expertise is in the area of photonics, nanolithography, and nanofabrication. He was a Senior Research Associate and Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada, where he spearheaded the establishment and development of the state-of-the-art Nanolithography Facility. He has introduced courses on nanolithography and micro- and nanofabrication, which he currently teaches. He serves currently as the Director of the University of Iowa Nanofabrication Facility and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. His research interests include the crossroads of several areas such as photonic crystals, nanofabrication, biosensing, and optofluidics. He has authored numerous scientific and technical journal publications. He acts as a Member of IEEE and IET.
