Karl Rosengren was born in Ridgewood, NJ, USA in 1959. He received his B.A. in chemistry from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, USA and his Ph.D. in child psychology from the Institute of Child Development at the University of Minnesota, Minn, USA. He has held academic appointments at the University of Michigan and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Rosengren is currently a Professor of psychology at the Northwestern University, Ill, USA. In 1999–2000, he held a Visiting Position at the Department of Human Movement Sciences at the Free University in Amsterdam. Rosengren's research examines cognitive and motor processes across the life span and has involved collaborations with researchers in computer science, engineering, kinesiology, and statistics. He is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science. Rosengren is currently on the Editorial Boards of Infant Behavior and Development and the Journal of Culture and Cognition.
