Dhanpat Jain earned his M.B.B.S. degree from Mysore Medical College, Mysore, India, and the M.D. degree from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India. He then proceeded in a fellowship in GI pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, USA, in 1995-1996. He is presently serving as an Associate Professor of Pathology and as the Director of GI and Liver Pathology Division at the Yale University School of Medicine. He has a keen interest in teaching and has delivered lectures and conducted slide seminars for medical students, pathology residents, and fellows. He has been awarded the Averill A. Liebow Award (1999-2000) for excellence in teaching pathology residents and Howard Spiro Award (Yale University, 2002-2003) for excellence in teaching clinical gastroenterology fellows. He is a Member of various professional societies. He is on the editorial boards of many indexed journals and has delivered many guest lectures and conducted seminars and symposia on gastrointestinal and liver pathology in USA and abroad. His main areas of interest include liver tumors and GI mortality disorders. He has published over 80 papers and over 50 abstracts in reputed journals and has written several book chapters and a book in press. He has presented several papers and posters at various conferences in USA and India.
