Ensanya A. Abou Neel
Ensanya A. Abou Neel received her B.S. degree in dental medicine and surgery and M.S. degree in prosthodontics from the Faculty of Dentistry, Tanta University, Egypt, and her Ph.D. degree in biomaterials (clinical dentistry) from the University College London, UK. She holds a PG Certificate in teaching for higher education from the University College London, UK. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Biomaterials Division, Faculty of Dentistry, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia, and as an Honorary Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University College London. Previously, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Division, University College London, after obtaining her Ph.D. degree in 2005, and then appointed as a lecturer at the Biomaterials Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Tanta University, Egypt. Her areas of expertise include novel degradable methacrylate/lactide-based bone adhesives/cements, guided bone regeneration membranes for periodontal repair, remineralizing-antibacterial dental adhesive/composite materials, models for remineralization of defective tooth structure, chlorhexidine releasing calcium phosphate bone cements, collagen/calcium phosphate glass fiber constructs for muscle/tendon/ligament repair, nondegradable methacrylate denture base materials, and antibacterial calcium phosphate-based glasses/fibers for hard/soft tissue engineering.
