Sanne Jensen was born in Aalborg, Denmark, in 1969. She received a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the University of Aarhus, Aarhus, Denmark in 1997. Part of her Ph.D. was performed at the University of Oxford, Oxford, UK, where she worked from 1994 to 1995. Her Ph.D. thesis work was focused on the structure and function of DNA topoisomerase II enzymes. From 1998 till 2000, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Scripps Research Institute, Calif, USA. From 2000 to 2003, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the National Institute for Medical Research, UK. Throughout the years from 2003 until 2007, Jensen was a Senior Scientist at the Danish Cancer Society, Denmark. In 2007, she joined Evolva Biotech A/S in Denmark as a Senior Scientist and Program Manager. Her research interests are signaling pathways that operate during cell division in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and mammalian cells, and which are relevant to cancer. She also has several years experience with small- molecule drug discovery in the oncology field.
