Iwa Antonow-Schlorke

Iwa Antonow-Schlorke received her M.S. degree in biology from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. She is a Research Fellow in the Fetal Brain Development and Disease Programming group headed by Professor Matthias Schwab at the Jena University Hospital. She collaborates closely with Peter Nathanielsz at the University of Texas in San Antonio. Her scientific interests lie in fetal physiology, cerebral development, early life experience, motor behavior, and cerebral ischemia. Currently, she is engaged in experimental work studying the effects of fetal glucocorticoid exposure on asphyxia-related brain injury in sheep.
