Anette Ekström

Anette Ekström works as an Associate Professor of nursing at the University of Skövde, Skövde, Sweden. She also serves as a nurse and a midwife. She received a Registered Nurse degree in 1979, a Registered Midwife degree in 1988 from the Department of Health Sciences, University of Skövde, a Ph.D. degree in reproductive and perinatal health from the Karolinska University, Stockholm, Sweden in 2005, and an Associate Professor degree in nursing in 2011. Her research interest is within the fields of care science which include nursing, reproductive, perinatal, and sexual health, public health, support during childbirth and breastfeeding, development of instruments and methods, and complementary and alternative methods. She is a part of the Executive Editors of the Journal of Nursing & Care. Professor Ekström has been a Lead Guest Editor in a special issue in nursing research and practice since 2012.
