Francesca Pentimalli serves as a Senior Scientist and Group Leader at Oncology Research Center of Mercogliano (CROM) Avellino, Italy and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Biology, College of Science and Technology, Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa, USA. She obtained her M.S. degree in biological sciences and molecular biology in 1997 and her Ph.D. degree in molecular and cellular genetics in 2002, both from the University of Naples Federico II. She worked from 2001 to 2003 as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Lab of Professor Carlo M. Croce at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the Kimmel Cancer Institute, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pa, USA. She also worked from 2006 to 2007 as an Assistant Editor for Nature Reviews Cancer and Nature Reviews Genetics, at the Nature Publishing Group, London, UK. Pentimalli published over 40 articles in the field of cancer research. She is an ad hoc reviewer for several international journals. Her experience includes cancer research and, in particular, dissecting the molecular mechanisms underlying tumorigenesis and identifying new possible therapeutic targets or diagnostic/prognostic/predictive factors.
