William J. Brown

William J. Brown received his Ph.D. degree in medical sciences at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Tex, USA, where he worked with Dr. William Snell. He then received a postdoctoral training in cell biology with Dr. Marilyn Farquhar at Yale University School of Medicine. Subsequently, he joined the faculty at Cornell University where is now a Professor of cell biology at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. He was also a visiting scientist at the Scripps Research Institute in 2003. His research focuses on the role of lipid modifying enzymes in transport through the secretory and endocytic pathways and storage of triglycerides in lipid droplets in mammalian cells.
