Dario Pasini graduated from the University of Pavia, Lombardy, Italy in 1992. After a short stay (six months) at the University College London, he moved north and, after three and a half years, was awarded the Ph.D. degree in chemistry in 1996 from the University of Birmingham, UK. After postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley, USA (1997–1999), he joined the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Pavia in 2000 as an Assistant Professor, where he continues to develop his scientific interests in the fields of nanosciences. He spent a period of research at the University of Geneva. During his period in Pavia, he has supervised or cosupervised 12 Laurea theses, 5 short-term fellowships, 3 postdoctoral fellowships, and 1 Ph.D. degree student. He is the author of 69 publications in high impact factor international journals in the fields of organic, supramolecular, and macromolecular chemistry. He acts as a reviewer for high impact factor international journals of major publishers: Wiley, RSC, ACS, and Elsevier. He is a corresponding author for the majority of his publications since the start of his academic career (2000). The research interests of Prof. Pasini, in collaboration with national and international research groups, can be summarized into two main topics: 1) functional organic materials, with an emphasis on supramolecularly assembled chiral nanostructures; 2) functional polymers, for applications as nanomaterials, supports, and delivery agents.
