Tae Jin Kang

Tae Jin Kang serves as a Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the College of Engineering at the Seoul National University, Republic of South Korea. He received his Ph.D. degree in fiber and polymer science and the Most Outstanding Graduate Award from the North Carolina State University, USA, in 1983. Currently, he acts as the Director of Intelligent Textile System Research Center and Fashion Textile Center at the Seoul National University and is serving on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology and Education and the Journal of the Textile Institute and on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Textile Research Journal, and so forth. Kang was the Dean of the College of Engineering at the Seoul National University from 2007 to 2011, and in 2009, he has served as the Chairman for the Founding Committee of the National Research Foundation of Korea. He has authored over 200 scientific publications, including papers and patents and headed numerous international collaborative researches. His research activities cover smart textile materials and structures, carbon-based nanomaterials, instantly hardening protective textiles, and dye-sensitized photovoltaic fibers, and so forth.
