Marco Di Sciuva

Politecnico di Torino, Italy

Marco Di Sciuva is a Full Professor of aerospace engineering at the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, and Head of the Department of Aeronautical and Space Engineering from 2000 to 2007. At present, he is Professor of aircraft structures, theory and testing of aerospace structures, structural dynamics, and control of aerospace structures. Di Sciuva is author of more than 130 scientific papers in international journals, Acta of Turin Academy of Sciences, and Proceedings of National and International Congresses. He is also a Reviewer for the Journal of Applied Mechanics, Journal of Sound and Vibration, International Journal of Solids and Structures, ASCE Journal of Engineering Mechanics, AIAA Journal, Quarterly Journal of Mechanics and Applied Mathematics, Meccanica, Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, Composite Structures, and Journal of Sandwich Structures and Materials. He is organizer of symposia and chairman of sessions of national and international conferences. His scientific interests are analytical and numerical modeling of multilayered shell structures (composite and sandwich structures), with special emphasis on the estimation of the interlaminar stresses and elastic stability behaviour, structural dynamics and impact behaviour at low and medium range of velocity, active control of the multilayered structures, stochastic multidisciplinary and multiobjective structural optimization, probabilistic structural design, and identification and updating of structural dynamical systems.
