Magnus Paulsson was born in 1966 in Halmstad, Sweden. He serves as a Principal Specialist in Mechanical Pulping at Eka Chemicals AB and a Professor at Mid Sweden University in Mechanical Fiber Technology. He earned his M.S. degree in chemical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in 1989 and his Ph.D. degree in forest products and chemical engineering from the same university in 1996. He held a research position in the Institute of Paper Science and Technology at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1997 to 1998, and he has been since 2008 working as a Professor at the Mid Sweden University. He has since 2002 been combined to academic and industrial research and he has published more than 60 papers in scientific journals and conferences proceedings and he coauthored two book chapters. He serves as a referee for more than ten scientific journals. His expertise area includes lignin and cellulose chemistry, (chemo-) mechanical and chemical pulping and bleaching, light-induced and heat-induced yellowing, chemical modification, and surface characterization of lignocellulosic materials.
