Akihito Hashidzume works as an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Science, Osaka University, Japan. He completed his Ph.D. degree from Osaka University in 1997 under the supervision of Professor Mikiharu Kamachi. After receiving his Ph.D. degree, Hashidzume began working at the Graduate School of Science, Osaka University, as an Assistant Professor. During his academic career, he worked as a Visiting Scholar with Professor Steven C. Zimmerman at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and with Professor Craig J. Hawker at the University of California, Santa Barbara,USA. Hashidzume has received the Society of Cyclodextrins, Japan Award for Young Scientists in 2008. His research interests include polymer synthesis, water-soluble polymers, and polymer assemblies.
