Javier Herná ndez-Borges is currently an Associate Researcher (Ramón y Cajal Program) at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition, and Food Science of the University of La Laguna (ULL) in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). In 2005, he received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry at that University, performing several predoctoral stays at the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the University of Masaryk, Brno (Czech Republic) and at the Institute of Industrial Fermentations of the CSIC in Madrid (Spain). He also performed a Postdoc stay at the Institute of Chemical Methodologies of the CNR in Rome. His research is currently focused on the development of new methodologies for the extraction and preconcentration of pesticides and antibiotics in environmental and food samples by chromatographic and electromigration techniques, also using CNTs as SPE stationary phases.
